Townscaper's seaboard dioramas make for adorable 3D prints
Townscaper's do-it-yourself islands are already more toy than game. Merely thanks to an empiric beta pushed earlier this week, people have started turning their seaside villages into utterly charming desk ornaments.
Arriving on the game's beta branch on Steam, Townscaper will instantly LET you exportation your creations as .obj 3D models. Course, this way common people have started 3D printing their own towns—and barely a day later on the update went live, they're already showing promise.

Exportation does give away a couple of of the shortcuts wont to create Townscaper's pleasing retreats. Windows extrude outwards from their respective buildings, patc stairs are really just shapeless blobs. But small details like gulls, potted plants and benches still body of work fine, and with a little lic you can photographic print something properly delightful.
Pretty happy with my little 3d printed #townscaper town. Loving the exportation feature @OskSta! pic.chirrup.com/aHSznrDJlMAugust 25, 2021
They're adorable wee things, aren't they? And piece the export process might overcharge the models of the gimpy's vibrant villages, I'm overexcited to see who'll be the first to crack out the paints and colour one of these dioramas. While I don't have a 3D printer myself, I've also been having a whole load of fun delivery my exported towns into doddering Unity projects to stunning issue.
With the export process now opening leading a crew of Townscaper's foundations, this week's update also added a small step out towards moddability. You can at present mess around with the game's textures, letting you repaint villages with brand new styles—though developer Oskar Stålberg reckons that's easier said than done.
"I hazard the game is now (in the most liberal use of the word) moddable," Stålberg tweeted. "Fluke computation out my eldritch UVs and rendition to make up your ain discipline style."
